Malika started her yoga journey, on a whim, in 2013 when she moved back to the Dade County area from Tampa, FL. The suggestion to take a yoga class came from her aunt because she thought it would help with her levels of stress. At one of these early classes she met a student who raved about community yoga classes at Legion Park, and although it took a few months, she finally made it to the park, met AnaMargaret, and fell in love with her teaching style.
Although Malika could feel yoga becoming a spiritual calling, she remained content with being a student until AnaMargaret guided her 200HR Teacher Training course. This was an eye-opening experience that left her not only wanting to know more about the Yoga Tradition, but also yearning to be in a position where she could pass along healing knowledge to others.
With her increasing knowledge, yoga felt more like healing maneuvers for life, not just stretches for the body. Balance, breath, honor of the body & soul, and calming of the mind is a life voyage that she hopes to share with all who pass through her life and classes.
